Electrical Machine

The electrical machine is an electromechanical device which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy or, mechanical energy into electrical energy to perform a task. A transformer is also an electrical machine which acts as an electromechanical device to convert voltage from one level to another level.

The electrical machine is divided into the following categories

Electrical Machine

Generator:
Generator
The generator is an electromechanical device which is used to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. It works on the principle of faradays laws of electromagnetic induction "when current carrying conductor placed in rotating magnetic field then they produced EMF."
There are two types of a generator DC generators and another is AC generators.

Motor:
Electrical motor
The motor is an electromechanical device which is used to convert Electrical energy into mechanical energy. Electric DC motor work on the principle that "when current carrying conductor place in a magnetic field then they experience a mechanical force."
Electrical AC motor work on the principle that "When the supply is fed to the motor stator then a rotating magnetic field is produced in an air gap due to the production of a rotating magnetic field that experiences a mechanical force."

Transformer:
Transformer

The transformer is a static device which also works as an electromechanical device, used to change the voltage from one level to another level. It works as a principle of faradays principle of Mutual-induction and Self-induction. It is used for step-up or step-down of the voltage as per requirement.
